Pros

the compensation and benefits were decent

Cons

constantly being micromanaged, with any mistakes being the focus of management attention and successes being overshadowed by the slightest mistake so there was never a sense of security or feeling of being part of a team. Too often the work was underestimated and over-promised by the development management wwith the expectations that the developer will work the long hours to try to meet unrealistic expectations, only to be chastised if there were issues in something that was forced and rushed from the get go. Very little time collaborating, learning from eachother, or sharing information among the group.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

more time allowing developers to plan solutions from end to end as opposed to expecting the first step for the developer to involve coding often unclear or ambiguous requirements. Also, cultivation of a more positive environment through focusing on the positives rather than spening all the time picking apart subjectively negative things.

    Pros

Wonderful work environment, competitive pay, advancement opportunities. I am surprised at some of the reviews of this company, this is a great place to work. So many talented, creative folks and new ideas are well-received. Great work/life balance. Wonderful work culture. The location of the building is so convenient for employees.

    Cons

The bonus structure is both a pro and a con. The bonuses are generous but you have to wait quite a while to be able to receive your stock units.

    Pros

Hard to say. I previously said the people but so many have left and those left are just competing to keep their job or get ahead. It has turned into a self-centered, back stabbing, look out for yourself culture that is also very untrustworthy.

    Cons

Not sure who to trust but trust your gut when it says it's time to go. Be careful who you confide in, everyone is out for themselves, to keep their job and get more$ or get promoted. It's all about being the favorite, not what you actually contribute. The reviews that are negative on this site state the truth. The positive reviews out here unfortunately look and sound like they were written by the ceo. Very misleading and disappointing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to Amazon if you care about the people versus a profit - completely gut the place of existing leaders and start all over again. This is the only way you will break through. The integrity of leaders is in question daily and most cannot be trusted. Look at all the employees that have voluntarily left - many were top performers. Why do you think they left?
