I have been working at Siemens Corp

    Pros

The tools and projects are like no others. Your co workers are smart people so it never seems as though one person is carrying two people. The customers are vital to our national and city infrastructure so you know your work is important. Excellent amount of family time given. A genuine multicultural and diverse place with real work being done by talented people.

    Cons

lack of communication. a heirarchy of management exists but you never know who is in charge of you. Some of the people they lay off are very talented compared to the ones they keep. One project laid off a guy everyone liked working with and was a person the customer trusted. The guy they kept was talented but immature, smelled bad and was always late. After this we lost a minor project with a long standing customer. Another person was let go after almost ten years. A past customer asked why he was not placed on a current project to hold onto him so they could work with him again if Siemens won another bid with them. they were right.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

communicate. make sure you have your heirarchy known to everyone. decide who needs to be laid off after knowing what the customers think of them. we are more likely to win contracts that way.
