The organization is very professional but drinks too much agile Kool-Aid.

    Pros

Generally very professional with first rate architects and staff; excellent benefits; fun place to work; good training; lunchtime talks on many useful subjects; friendly environment, great work/life ballance.

    Cons

Mediocre developer laptops and some obsolete developer tools; locked into a good number of older technologies; many adjacent agile team room leads to a very disruptive noisy atmosphere; meetings are rarely held in conference rooms where they would not disrupt others; Too many different Wikis in use.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Daily standups are nearly universally believed by developers to be useless. When meetings are held, they should be held where they will not disrupt all adjacent teams.

This is Malvern HQ review. Greg Sorenson NOT CEO of this location. Other locations skewing results.

I have been working at Siemens Medical Solutions Health Services full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

This used to be a nice company (Malvern location). However, its software is taking a beating in the market, so there are no longer pros to working here, unless you need a salary. Note that there are reviews from other locations than Malvern, PA, mixed in here. They may be skewing the results to be more positive, perhaps rightly so. This review does not concern those locations, this concerns the division in Malvern that develops Healthcare IT software.

    Cons

Fast and Cheap is how this company would like software to be developed, and it shows. There is poor quality, and managers who think outsourcing, overtime and more process is the way to fix it. The workforce is treated poorly, and when employees live in fear, they cannot do their best, most creative work. It gets progressively worse every year. People just lay low and hope they can keep their jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some new middle R&D managers in here that have had success and experience elsewhere. There is a group of longtime Pennsylvania R&D managers here who cover each other's butts, and will not listen to ideas that would make things better. Maybe it's coming from Siemens in Germany, but this is not a creative software company. The products are comprehensive, but the vision cannot be executed.
