Pros

Big company, can move other places if needed. Lots of resources as well.

Cons

Big company. Lots of red tape and processes to follow. many steps needed to get things done and if they are not done correctly, you need to go back and do them over again. Paperwork gets in the way.

Advice to Management

Train management on a local level to be leaders and not just managers.

    Pros

Good company to work for if you have prior industry experience. The best part about the job was freedom, and financial support.

    Cons

As with all corporations you will deal with weekly deadlines for different training classes that do not relate to your core responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

More hands on support locally rather then sending the information through 45 different managers. More training on your core responsibilities.

    Pros

Solid company excellent product and services. Invests heavily in R+D. Sometimes European heritage gets in the way of streamline business processes and allowing flexibility to react to marketplace in US.

    Cons

Excessive downsizing in 2009 that affected revenue and customer satisfaction. The downsizing was so severe that after the fact senior management recognized this and tried to hire back.

    Advice to Management

If your strategic plan calls for investment in a market, adequately fund that investment and commit for at least 3 years. If you cannot make that kind of commitment, do not bother. Siemens has been very fickle in a number of markets and has lost credibility as a result.
