Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember what the company was like before it went public and try to carry that forward

I have been working at Sierra Systems

    Pros

Sierra Systems offers a good balance between work and off-work life, and has a good reputation for public sector IT work.

    Cons

Sierra Systems has not kept up with client needs, nor kept up with employee development (education and interesting project opportunities).

    No opinion of CEO
  2. Very bad experience as a contractor, employee looks like hate SUBs.

    I worked at Sierra Systems

    Pros

I gained skills and experience in one project because I work with a very good contractor.

    Cons

The PM changed job scope and cut the rate during the contract.
The PM took over the QA process, removing the HP Quality Centre and using spreadsheet as defect tracking tool, screw the testing process and team collaboration in the end.
The PM doesn't know how to buy in with business and client, adding so much out of scope works in the project.
The developers look down QA, wouldn't have any technical discussion with testers.
Sierra employees in the team don't like contractors, but I know it happens everywhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know Sierra system acquired RIS, and being acquired by another US consulting firm, all these changes make the people working for Sierra system feel like not people oriented anymore. Management is very profit oriented, but again, it happens everywhere for a consulting firm.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO
