Former Employee - Assembler  in  Horseheads, NY
Former Employee - Assembler in Horseheads, NY

I worked at Sikorsky full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Challenging. There was alot of work and little downtime if you knew how to keep yourself engaged. The engineering department was great, many of them personable and always happy to answer questions that commonly would arise.

    Cons

Inept upper mangement, weak union and a "local boys" only attitude to boot. I watched inept workers get promoted and brown-nosers get raises on a regular basis. It seemed if you wern't from the local area, the union treated you as an outsider, regardless if you were in the same union.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting ineptitude. Start listening to your lead mechanics and assemblers, give them what they need.
