Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Tempe, AZ

I have been working at Silicon Valley Bank full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Reasonable compensation
pockets of brilliance
Good work depending on the group you are in
Good coworkers and colleagues

Cons

Incompetent CIO and leadership team
one IT is a horrible joke to promote incompetence
should assess, how people have done prior to giving more responsibility
New "transformation" feels like it hasn't kicked in behavioral changes.
Impossible to get anything done in the current situation.
New CIO needs to pay attention inwards before hob nobbing with business
culture of incompetence and talking is rewarded more than work and getting things done.
Some departments within IT need to be completely restructured. .Operations and support teams need a revamp to stay relevant.
IT is favorite whipping boy for some of the Business side leadership
No parity between IT and business teams in the same org (just look at business directors. everyone seems to be a director in business, whereas in IT its almost impossible to be one)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look deeper at IT than just considering it as a cost center
Time to look at transformation and create a inclusive culture

Doesn't Recommend
Neutral Outlook
Approves of CEO
