I worked at Silicon Valley Bank

    Pros

pay, hours weren't bad, convenient location. Smart people, learned to model and had some accounting experience. Was treated with respect.

    Cons

didn't feel like the work was worth completing. Worked hard, but in general the work was quite boring. Excel monkey.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Was a good experience - it wasn't their fault that I didn't have passion for banking.

I worked at Silicon Valley Bank

    Pros

    Technology industry
    Good benefits
Friendly people (for the most part)
Flexible when need to be flexible
Promote fast if you work for it

    Cons

Getting to be a "big bank"
Suprising personnel decisions (picking wrong people to promote and getting rid of or driving out good, producing workers)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not manage by fear and insecuirty. If you hire talented people, they will work hard and it will payoff for the company.
