Pros

marketing for ads, trade marketing

Cons

marketing, limited power to the job and decision. limited budget with too much aiticipation for the outcome, turnover rate is so high that it changes the whole marketing team once a year.

    I have been working at Simmons Bedding full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Makes a nice product. Starting jouney into lean processing.

    Cons

    Manufacturing side lacks intergrity and leaders would fit well back in the 1920's. Honesty is lacking at the VP level. Lean Manufacturing is great but be hones about the effect on headcount.

    Employees are an asset, not something that keeps you from obtaining your goals.

    Poor upper management, everyone is out for themself, do NOT foster their young/inexperienced employees like they say

    Great coworkers
    Great history/reputation of Simmons

    Cons

    Little help from management-first 6 months
    Last two months-new management who was a micromanager
    Very little support
    If you don't know the right people you won't advance
    Management will blindside you to push you out of your position
    Management is worried about their well being over anything/anyone else
    Will make up inconsistent facts to get rid of you, when they get caught in their lies they terminate you
    Snooty people to work for
    HR personnel are a joke
    They say they will foster their new young inexperienced employees but they don't
    You are just thrown out there with very LITTLE training and lack knowledge of product
    New hire training is the biggest waste of a week of your life, the product is in the room yet product wasn't discussed not once...a week of training on "how to give a presentation" and statistics about the industry
    Good old boys club

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more supportive
    More communication between managers, too many levels of management and people to go through with ideas, concerns, questions, etc.
    Have some morals and compassion for other human beings
    More communication between managers and retail account specialists
    Foster the young talent that you have, create a longevity in your employees
