I have been working at Simon Property Group

Pros

It is a very flexible environment to work in. There is always new and different things to do every day.

Cons

The pay is low compared to the high stresses of the job. They do not want to pay you over time but to get everything done you must work over time.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a huge gap in levels of work. There is entry level positions and then there are very experienced level.s

There is a lack of understanding from corporate office about what is needed in the field.

I have been working at Simon Property Group

    Pros

Good benefits package. Good work schedule. Flexible time off. Office environment friendly. Nice place to be during the holidays. Generous employee bonus at Christmas.

    Cons

Many of the important decisions that affect the field are made by those who do not understand and apparently don't care what happens at the local level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work to keep good lines of communication open with the field. Work with local properties to do what is best for individual properties whether they are mega malls or small local malls.

I have been working at Simon Property Group full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The Director works with you if you have another jobs, Asst Director is really laid back too. The job is a minimum wage job, but you get the extra $2 because of the contract. BlueCross BlueShield benefits with great costs, company pays for half of your costs anyways. Everyone is really laid back, as long as you get your work done. Also get gift cards for showing up on time and working when big events happen. You'll always get 40 hours a week. Checks are every other week, even if you call off a day or two, you'll still get your 80 hours in.

    Cons

Can't call in sick during special events/holidays, can't get overtime. Getting new pants/shirts/etc takes some time, have to remind Asst Director a few times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When someone tells you their shirt and pants size, listen to them instead of just giving them whatever size you think fits. Also, I'm not sure how you can afford to give one person all the over time. Giving one person nearly 50 hours of over time in one month is insane when the rest of us ask, and we get an extra two hours, then get off an hour the next two days.
