I worked at Simon & Schuster

Pros

great coworkers, great books and authors. Upper management in my department were great and I learned a lot through the years.

Cons

low salary. company is getting very cheap with budgeting. Many good people leave because the salary is too low and they don't give raises where needed. this means that the people will leave for higher pay. I've seen this happen many times.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

give raises where necessary because all the good people will leave for higher pay

I have been working at Simon & Schuster full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, generally reasonable expectations of employees, office culture is fairly stale. Time off seems reasonable but still limiting. Summer Fridays are a great perk.

    Cons

Yearly raises are insignificant. Fairly friendly environment, but few opportunities to meet people in other departments.
