Sinclair Broadcast Group – “Working for Sinclair can be a great resume builder.

3.0

Sinclair Broadcast Group Production Assistant/Graphics Specialist in Asheville, NC:   (Current Employee)

Pros

If you want to work in television, it's as good a place as any to start. I work in the production department, but , have helped out in news and promotions. So, it's a great resume builder; that is, if you're a go-getter.

Cons

Low pay is to be expected when you're the only station in your market; there's no competition. Now, with the salary freeze it's even worse. Also, management doesn't take enough responsibility for its poor decisions, but instead continues to spend money on projects/shows that are losing money.

Advice to Senior Management

Lay off of the pet projects and focus on making the product you already have better. Take into account any feedback you receive from employees and customers. But, if you're going to ask employees to help with said projects, then make sure they get paid for their services; don't take away any overtime or skimp on the quality by using non-qualified salaried employees.
