I worked at Six Flags part-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

-Extremely fun job. The vast majority of employees in the shows department enjoy their jobs.
-Coworkers are friendly and easy to get a long with, possibly because they enjoy the job so much.
-Management/leadership is heavily involved. Employees receive constant feedback about their performance, and supervisors are constantly available for assistance.

Cons

-Shows department has suffered budgetary cuts caused by the company's recent financial problems. Management has done a great job of doing their best with a bad situation, but the future of the company, and therefore the department, is hard to predict.
-Being an outdoor job, employees have to deal with the strange (at best) / wildly unpredictable (at worst) New England weather.
-Job can be tedious on days where the park is empty.

I worked at Six Flags full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good for experience and easy enough to get into low level leadership positions. Low level management is friendly enough most of the time. Great co-workers and free entry to park.

    Cons

Higher management is disrespectful. HR is only interest in protecting Six Flags's interests. International employees are forced to live in cheap apartments and while promised amenities like internet and comfortable mattresses few rooms actually make true on these promises. International employees are actually generally disrespected by management. I knew a girl who was fired and sent back to Asia because she was dehydrated, no one was bringing her water, so she melted Dip n Dots and drank them. Long hours expected and no overtime. Double shifts often scheduled, even when they are not if you are a Lead or higher expect to stay well past your scheduled shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-evaluate what employees do for your company. Treat them with respect. Treat international employees as adults (which they are, some with children).

I have been working at Six Flags part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great people, Good hours in peek season, meet a lot of people, free soda for food service, relatively easy promotion

    Cons

no hours in off season, they generally do not like to have you work over 6 hours unless they have a big event happening- Food service magic mountain, WAY understaffed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have some empathy, It always seemed like you expected people to know exactly what to do with out telling them anything, IE if it is a slow day over all but my building was busy you would still expect me to send people home? or to another location. it was understaffed a lot!
