I worked at Skechers U.S.A. part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Commission + Pay, can add up to a nice paycheck. Learn about new shoe styles their pros and cons. Get a lot of customer experience with all kinds of different people from all around the world. Learn time management

    Cons

Employees get treated horribly if you are not in their (the managers) top 5 favorites. Very unprofessional managers, district managers and regional managers. Tend to make rude, sarcastic comments. Pretty much if they don't like your style/ your personality, they'll let you know just how much they dislike you. Always point out the bad never the good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put it out there to DMs that employee treatment is very much important and it should not be centered around favoritism. If they are a good employee does their job and is always available you should treat them right and with respect. Everyone is different and some people like to their jobs seriously and not be constantly joking around. Also some "company standards" are unrealistic when associates never receive the appropriate training in the change of standards nor are they posted anywhere near the work place. Rules such as dress code are not enforced upon everyone, certain people can get away with it while others will get a "You can never wear that again here." All in all fairness and employee appreciation is necessary, they make your company and help to get it where it is today.
