Pros

Really fun atmosphere if you're in a store with good people. Pretty easy job. Pay is better than most retail. Very flexible scheduling - good for students, second jobs.

Cons

If you are not full time do not count on your hours. They often make cuts with little notice (from corporate level not store manager). They don't seem to care about their part time employees at all. It's very difficult to get a full time position as there are 2 per store max (store manager and assistant store manager). People who deserve these positions often get passed up for outsiders They often change their commission structure as well resulting in getting great pay one week and an unlivable wage the next. The commission and hour cuts are horrible. If going here part time do not depend on it for your sole source of income no matter how good it is when you start.

    Pros

    bonuses, family days, casual dress code in corporate office, free drinks, the PARTIES!, meeting celebrities, the open bar at parties,

    Cons

    meetings almost never happen on time, you are lucky if people meet with you in person, fire drills, power outages, no close places to eat other than chinese, the scary music piped in the bathrooms and hallways

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    skechers is no longer innovative, and there are many senior managers and midlevel managers that have been there over 10 years and needs to get rid of them so that innovation can occur the status quo at skechers is that if it has worked for 18+ years why change it? when things like the inventory system constantly breaks down, the company the inventory system is made out of no longer exists, there are better software and operating systems other fashion brands use.

    Pros

    Good Pay (sometimes), If you like the shoes good discount, international chain (can relocate if you needed to),

    Cons

    Contradicting Memos, Weak Middle Management, Completely Sales Driven (There is nothing in place to keep morale up), Terrible Secret Shop program in place, Near impossible to advance unless you stay for 2+ years, Do not look for advice within the store to improve sales, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get a clue. Secret Shops dont work and are faulty, not to mention a terrible way of evaluating performance and promotions. Try to care more about your employees. Also, try to make a better product, shoes (in same style, color) dont look the same. Eye lits rarely match up on the shoes, the shoes are often faded, and they are just terribly uncomfortable.
