Pros

Local model guarantees evenings at home with family. High quality workforce, mostly sourced from the likes of Accenture, Deloitte etc.

Cons

Very monocultural - the entire company seems to be populated by suburban Big 4 types. Born in a suburb, went to a major sports college, started at a large firm, lived in the city for a while, met a girl, moved back to the suburb they were born in, had kids, wife told them their traveling days were over, quit the large firm, started at Slalom. It's fine if that's your thing...

    Pros

    - impressive management team - leaders that really do care about their employees - hands off management (but they are always there if you need them)

    Cons

    - PTO plan was just improved however it could still be better - pay does not seem to be at market for the Seattle area - career advancement is limited in a larger office like Seattle

    Advice to Management

    - continuous review and improvement to the PTO plan will go far with your employees - an aggressive local compensation review needs to take place - consultants should receive annual increases in line with their individual performance

    Pros

    Good people, projects and resources.

    Cons

Slalom did not fulfill on their recruiting "sales pitch". I felt like they using their recruits as practice for their sales pitch to clients. I had four years big 4 consulting experience and left my former business analyst role to join their team. Yet I sat on the bench for 2 months and eventually left.

    Advice to Management

    Recruit responsibly and competently.
