I have been working at Slalom Consulting full-time

Pros

Interesting work with great clients
Great career development opportunities, particularly if you have the entrepreneur spirit
Bright like-minded people
Strong culture
You truly feel like you are part of something special

Cons

Not a good place if you are expecting a highly prescribed career path. You will get a lot of support, but you will also have to figure out your own path. Not a con for me, but maybe for some

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep it up. Love the recent initiatives around meaningful careers.

I worked at Slalom Consulting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are many areas to specialize in depending on your interest.

    Cons

I found the talk about ethics and doing the right thing received a lot of attention at company meetings, but seemed to go out the window whenever the going got tough (the time you really need ethics). The reviews of the company are generally good, but they actively pressure employees give the company good ratings on places like glassdoor and "best places to work" surveys. Participation is even tracked, so this leads to a somewhat biased public ratings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't tell employees "everyone comes in at the consultant level" (not true, certain people are hired into the senior consulting positions). Be more honest in the interview process about how often consultants actually get promoted (not often).

I have been working at Slalom Consulting full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Entrepreneurial company
Truly cares about its people - the culture is unmatched from what I've seen
Gives people the autonomy to make the career they desire; when I've seen people raise their hand to step up, they're supported in their efforts

    Cons

Some of the benefits are a little light, but it's good to see the progress (as you'd expect in a growing company)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing. Sure, some areas of the company need some investment, and that will never go away. Everyone I work with is bright, motivated and happy to be here - keep it up and keep growing!
