Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put a little more effort into new hire development when they start on the sales floor and less focus on keeping them on edge about their employment status.

    Pros

Fun group of people to work with. Can make good money if your in the right store. Good perks and free concert shows. Its a fun gig for a year or two. You can make a good living working here but you have to know the right people above.

    Cons

Better kiss up to your DSL and above, if not they will find a way to get rid of you. I was let go and still dont know understand the reason.
Work/Life balance = Work. When you think about it. 11 hour shifts and working weekends adds up to a lot of time away from home. Inevitably, you'll be working solo and it can be really depressing as all you do is watch other people make money all around you. There are some sharks that will take your sales and upper management is one big fraternity and will take sides on who they like.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For your future employees, you have to make synergy rules much more definitive. There is way too much grey area. Each store has their own rules and the wiki guidelines leaves a lot of room for money to be taken from you and can be easily be manipulated by some that will make it work for them but not everyone else. Also the health plans are horrendous.

I have been working at Sleep Train Mattress Centers full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

working with the customers and helping them find a matress that improves their health and relaxation.

    Cons

was told company pays a certain commission, when the pay check comes it is not what is being tod.lots of gray area when asking questions about certain situations. Not allowed to take breaks or lunch breaks, work long hours and often by youself. Commission is taken away for using financing. This company is all about money, not service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to sales associates who put in long hours and work with your customers. Very simple truth, Keep your employees happy and in turn customers will be as well. 11 hour shifts are expecting too much out of your employees
