Pros

For retail commissioned sales, they still have one of the best pay structures.

Cons

Be prepared to work a 55 hour plus work week, every week. That is before driving, which you will do since you will be working in many, many different stores from day to day. They've cut many benefits, and various positions within the last 6 months, which may be good for long term sustainability but is of course painful for the grunts in the field. The tedium of sitting in a store by yourself for 11 and a half hours a day when you may or may not see customers is one of the most difficult things to get used to. Complete disrespect of sales and local management by senior management on a routine basis. No possibility for advancement.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to what made you successful. Recruit, keep, and pay the best employees in the business like you used to. When you don't treat the backbone of your company with respect you will lose your best people.

    Pros

    Looks good on your resume

    Cons

no work family life balance, destructive criticism instead of constructive criticism, unethical, uneducated and poorly trained directors. If you leave on time you are criticized by others. People become workaholics to fit in with general culture of company. Everyone is so afraid of Harry Acker that they become robots, and lose track of their people skills. They promote people into roles they are not ready to take on. Supervisors lack skills to run departments effectively, which creates poor morale and a demotivated workforce. Say that they value employees, but do not treat them that way once onboard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

not all good employees become good management. Keep in mind the people skills necessary to make a good manager.

    Pros

There are no good reasons. If you are desparate for a job. That would be the only reason. There is not enough traffic (customers) entering the showroom on a daily basis to be able to earn a living. Harry Acker wants every sale. Most of the time it means there is NO commission to be earned by the sales person.

    Cons

If you value family life do not work at Sleepys. A weekend day off is a luxury. It never happens.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At least use a rotating shift approach to scheduling.
