I have been working at SmartFocus full-time (more than an year)

Pros

- Never a dull moment; fast pace environment that keeps you on your toes.

- Great sense of community in a team oriented environment. I can reach out to any of my team members in any region and receive the prompt assistance that I need.

- Solid company in the industry and I get to be a part of cutting-edge innovations.

Cons

-I don’t get to travel as much as I use to for work.

    I worked at SmartFocus

    Pros

    Smart people, work hard, good customers. Everyone trying hard but managers are not trained and don't know how to lead. The customers want the company to succeed, but the sales people only know how to sell the email.

    Cons

    Executive management is new to the industry and keeps changing direction. Lack of consistent communication and CEO enjoys making offhanded insults at employee meetings.

    Fix the product, train the managers and communicate a plan.

    I have been working at SmartFocus full-time

    Pros

    None, really. Except being a bit lenient on days off and working from home...

    Also, the benefits are not bad. 401k and health. Previously, their bonuses/commissions were good but recently this has changed and they took forever to tell employees about the new plans.

    Cons

    Management is terrible. Company is way too focused on sales. Clients are unhappy due to the lack of help from support and account managers are only focused on renewing clients - not keeping them happy.

    Barely any real training for employees. The product is terrible and has many flaws that no one wants to fix because they only want to focus on new features.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to customers and what they need. Provide better support and listen to employee suggestions. Needs to focus more on customer support and not only on sales.
