Good compensation. Market focused, Has some real good people to work with. Adequate employee training and development programs.

    Cons

Lack of teamwork and support from management. Disengagement by managers and co-workers. Can be a difficult environment to succeed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not put too much credibility, ability, and advancement opportunities in only those who hold advanced college degrees. Not all jobs require it.

I worked at Smithfield Foods full-time

    Pros

A steady paycheck. They say the right things, but don't follow through by doing the right things. There are some very nice people that work there; however, those are the ones that they will dump the majority of the work load on without the equivalent benefits.

    Cons

Lack of opportunity and the inability to move to different positions based on key personal not allowing it because of personal differences. All the good talent leaves, and rightly so. All benefits are fairly skimpy, so don't expect a lot in a compensation program.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get new management. Most quality heads towards the door when they are limited on expansion opportunities or advancement opportunities.
