Pros

they have good stuff for sale and decent volume of sales weekly. independent.

Cons

the worker needs to buy route around $80.000 you pay $300 weekly rate ( int.7,99%) pay computer sistem $35. pay stales $100 week, pay gas, insurance, maint. $250. the worker have no benefits. no vacation. no promo. the contract signed is terrible. if you want to sale the route they charge fee 5%. the comission is 19% of gross sale. average reg $7000 week. you make net $1360 after expenses . you make. $600. after that you have to pay taxes 15% and health insurance. bad deal and the company always wants more and more. slaves...of course.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

This company is continuing to grow. Through the recessions competitors have shown they are having a downfall in sales but Snyder's has been growing consistently each year.

    Cons

Holidays are the busiest time of year

I have been working at Snyder's-Lance

    Pros

Used to be a decent place to work. They had improved the talent pool over the past several years that should have made Lance more able to compete and grow profitably. Some of the new acquisitions had great potential.

    Cons

Since the announcement of the merger (really more like an acquisition by Snyder of Lance), many good people either left on their own or were terminated. Interestingly, appears to only be Lance people and unfortunately most of them were very good. Almost seems like Snyder's felt threatened. Now the culture is such that no one is motivated and feel like they could be next. Also, I do not believe there will be as much synergy as others predict.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is no secret that top management got big fat bonuses for their part in the merger but obviously did not care about their ranks. Lance management should have watched out for their own employees instead of letting Snyder's be in charge. If you keep up with this the shallow talent pool will become a cesspool.
