I have been working at Sobeys

    Pros

If you dont want to continue your education past high school, becoming a department manager at a sobeys isn't a terrible way to go. I chose school, but the opportunity was there for me to take a position as a seafood manager.

    Cons

Not alot of freedom, and there are some very foolish policies handed down from head office that you MUST follow(same I'm sure with plenty of places). Experience will vary greatly from store to store.

I have been working at Sobeys part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-The customers who come into Sobeys can be really nice.
-The staff and management are super friendly

    Cons

    -No employee benefits
-Training was a little unorthodox (Was I even trained? Maybe we skipped that part...)
-A lot of guessing involved in what to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a more standard and official training process.
