Former Employee - Management Accounting/Finance Rotation Program Employee in Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Socalgas full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits; really, really nice people; less political than other places i've worked; lots of vacation; extremely stable. I worked in a good department with a lot of flexibility. Lots of company sponsored lunches and events. Good mentor program.

    Cons

Promotions seem more based on seniority than qualification, even in nonunion jobs; office is a bit stuffy. Working for a large company like this means every job is highly specialized, so the work can get boring. You have to really stand out and be proactive to get more varied work.
