Pros

SocialChorus is an incredibly exciting and fast-paced environment to start a career. The company's technology offering and expert approach to strategy and services position it well for success in this competitive industry. The founders and leaders of the company, from Finance to Marketing to Sales, are passionate, hard-working, experienced, intelligent and fair. The team is goal oriented and relentlessly committed to building a culture and a company that is both reflective of the passions, skills and determination of its leaders and the incredible opportunity in the social advocacy industry.

Cons

True for any start up, there are occasionally limited resources and management is often less structured. However, rather than view the challenges that face a start up as limitations that prohibit an employee's growth or success, it's truly up to the employee to make the most of his/her experience and career at SocialChorus and if the employee takes full advantage, the possibilities for success, growth and increased responsibilities are endless.

Advice to Management

Continue to shape the company's culture in a unique and diverse way; celebrate the success of employees; empower employees both entry-level and senior level to make their mark at SocialChorus doing work that challenges them and evolves with the industry and the growth of their careers.

    Pros

They sometimes have snacks. Because they're so chaotic and disorganized you can get away with doing almost nothing with your day. They don't realize that you have no work! That sucks if you end up being the person who has to do all the work though, and then you'll notice that there are a few people that aren't doing much.

    Cons

The New York office has a CEO that came from a major ad agency, therefore the place is run with the most rigid corporate structure... something you wouldn't expect at a startup. This place isn't fun. There are no happy hours, and basically everyone is miserable. Mostly because of the rigidity of this one guy, but also because the technology sucks and it's frustrating to work with a product that's sub-par.

    Advice to Management

My advice to upper management is get rid of the stuffy ad agency people and hire someone who can connect with the employees.

  2. Tremendous growth opportunity.

    Pros

Company is heading in the right direction. We are doing what others need to get done. It is slowly coming together.

    Cons

It's a company that's growing and there are some growing pains. Constant change and redirection internally. Should be focusing on new business at a more rapid scale.

    Advice to Management

Take into account views from all members of the team. Continue to focus on developing and growing employees with more emphasis on collaboration.
