Former Employee - Kitchen Help in Lethbridge, AB (Canada)

I worked at Sodexo full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Relatively easy work, low pressure most of the time depending on what you were hired as. I was fortunate enough to have good co-workers who made the day bearable.

    Cons

Very repetitive with low pay. Long time before reviews/raises. Anything you would expect with a slightly above minimum wage job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to pay more for people that work with people and the food. If you get paid really bad you care less about making that food well. I saw so many people get fired because of that.

Former Employee - Clinical Nutrition Manager in Florida (Uruguay)

I worked at Sodexo full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good company overall initially with excellent benefits, but they've changed over the years to moderately above average. Ongoing training provided. Opportunities to advance with company especially if able to relocate. Majority of colleagues & supervisors excellent. Fortunate to spend majority of career with outstanding General Manager who was willing to support staff & would use entire raise percentage on staff taking no increase for self.

    Cons

Contract management so if contract lost job is lost. Company top heavy & needs to consolidate. Issues with District Manager violating federal law, violating company hiring policy, places professional staff in impossible situations, not trust worthy as an individual, failed to investigate situations. Unqualified individuals hired at higher rate than superior rated employee. Area Support Manager doesn't keep up with new information & tries to force individual opinion on account rather than use established standards. Some General Manager incompetent & shouldn't have been hired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Eliminate duplication in support services, upper management & offices. Provide avenue for employees to report violation of laws & company policy & procedure without fear. Mandate Area Support Manager maintain competency in standards of care. Investigate all sides of issues. Maintain fair salary standards & don't hire unqualified people at higher rate than superior employees.
