I have been working at Sodexo full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you work in corp office or reg office you have it made enjoy you 8-10 hour days and 4-5 day work week but remember the ones that are in the field and don't get to see there families but maybe once a week

    Cons

sodexo is a company that will chew you up and spit you out. I am a chef that worked for Sodexo in Health care and in Schol services, when I worked for the health care aspect I worked 70 hours a week and had many compliments from my boss during my first eval my boss looked at my pay scale and said you make 10k less than other chefs doing your same job let me see if we can do anything about that I said that would be great he came back to me 3 weeks later and said that he could do nothing about my pay but annual raises of 5% no more it was policy or I could quit for 6 months and maybe come back and then I could start at the proper amount i not being able to do that was hurt but I continued working for my anual raises and did well meeting budgets and again getting may compliments from client, and supervisors alike, I then took a job with in Sodexo hoping to raise my income, I was told that I would make a little more when I took the job I was not informed that the GM was waiting for me to hier my Employees because she could not be bothered with doing interviews before I started I started 3 weeks before the start of the School year and was short 18 fultime out 0r 30 employees that I was to somehow hier, train, and evaluate not to mention that no one was apply because of the reputation that the Gm had in the area for temper tantrums I was short the whole year some weeks working all night over night 72 hours going home to shower and come back I rearly got a weekend off and was not able to allow my fellow supervisors to monitir kitchen staff. after a year there I left I worked too darn much never saw my kids
Sodexo has a lot of programs that are to help you with a work life balance but you are never alllowed to use them unless you are "high up on the food Chain" Sodexo treats any one who dose not report to corporate or reg. office as if they do not matter. Sodexo says a lot about fairness but dose little to back it up They have many unfair pay practices it would have been nice to take a vacation or sick day and not have to be avali. by phone. The Corp Office VP's ETC are aware of everything I said above and could care less just don't stop the Booze or the Golf its all they care about

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you work in the corp or reg. office you have it made if you do not you will be treated like a dish rag. GMs will scream at you for doing your job, you will work some times 72 hours straight and you will never have a day that last less than 16 hours my GM used to tell me when I worked a 12 hour day so you are going to make up the rest tomorrow right? and no they were not joking
