My experience has been good, yet I feel that I do not belong.

I have been working at Sodexo USA full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The pay, short hours, the ability to be quick on my feet and to see things that need to be done quickly, especially during peak lunch hours

Cons

I was supposed to get a 10-minute break, but I only get a 30-minute break to eat lunch. Also, I have to do double duty, which means at times, I sometimes bit off more than I can chew.

Advice to Management

Make it clear to future employees that they might be doing more than what they were hired for depending on need and demand.

    Pros

    Work life balance is great. Company treats all employees with respect. Opportunity if you willing to search throughout the company.

    Cons

    Pay seems to be lower for industry standards. No clear career path.

    Advice to Management

    Provide career planning guidance and increase pay to market rate

    Pros

    Reasonable Pay
    Catering hours are flexible- able to work anywhere between 5 hours a week to 40 hours
    Access to dining hall when on shift (during break)
    Experienced Catering Managers (absolutely wonderful people)
    Variety of work (from setting up large scale buffets, wine tastings, sit down dinners, dining hall work, etc.)

    Cons

    Rare disorganization during events
    Get to see how much food gets wasted every day :(
    This is a labor intensive job, you will be on your feet most of the day (not a con to everyone)
