Pros

5 weeks vacation Core team was good

Cons

Management is a one way communication channel, they tell, but don't listen. Sweatshop, sweatshop, sweatshop. Poor pay for operators and maint techs. No recognition of good people until they leave and it's too late. Production management doesn't play fair. One guy can mis-process and be fine, another can mis-process and get canned for same thing. Place is miserable to work for and I blame that on the management. After working there 5 years there was not one team building event ever.

Advice to Management

MES comes first, not last. You put yourselves so far behind by not staffing IT properly to support factory automation that it should be a crime. Only after 4 years did our department get the production charts and graphs into the hands of operations to use and respond to tool issues. Quit buying the cheapest software out there. Statistica and Navision both suck profusely and you waste a lot of talented people's time addressing this crappy software instead of putting them to good use analyzing their data to move the processes forward.

    Pros

Time off - They do offer a great vacation package. Co-workers - for the most part they are great to work with.

    Cons

Worst Management Team ever, especially Executive Management. Total lack of any form of organization. Each Department thinks they are the only one and treat the other Departments accordingly. They have fostered a culture of distrust among the ranks. The Company is totally subserviant to their German counter parts. It is truly a sad situation in that regard. Even if the Management Team was competent at thier jobs, Germany would eventually drive this Company into the ground. It was never meant to be profitable. It was meant to be a rich kids experiment.

    Advice to Management

    Quit your jobs.

    Pros

Lot of visibility and tons of excellent engineers that are more than willing to educate you if you show interest. Executive management is accessible and approachable... Good place to learn if you don't have any experience.

    Cons

The work environment is very serious. Not much scope for employee bonding or team building activity. Its a tough place for a foreign to warm up to. The atmosphere is not bright. Its rather dull to work in. Long hours and sometimes work pressure can get to you. No way for advanced opportunities. Management allow personal and internal politics to overshadow some employees.

    Advice to Management

Employees are always the most valuable assets, and treat different team equally. Invest in people, not use them as consultant that you will chew up and spit out.
