I have been working at Solera Holdings full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Solera is not for everyone... It's fast pace and full throttle. 80% intensity. However, with that, the alpha leaders that rise to the occasion will receive an education like not other. Constantly innovating and raising the bar. Top management takes the time to build and invest in their people. The global opportunities are vast, you create your own path... What you put in, you can get out exponentially.

Cons

You have to be hungry. Solera remains in a constant state of dissatisfaction, but that's only a con if you don't have the desire to raise your own bar. It's not about where you start, it's about where you go next and you have to be mentally prepared to fall down, but get back up and keep pushing.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please continue with the global philanthropy opportunities - they are a once-in-a-lifetime chance for those who want to give back, but don't necessarily have the means.

I worked at Solera Holdings full-time

    Pros

Lots of learning opportunities, free lunches at corporate office, decent benefits.

    Cons

Absolutely no work/life balance. Work past 8:00 pm most nights and almost every weekend. Your best is never good enough. Expectation to turn around a project that would normally take over an hour and expect it in less than 30 min. Very little direction...it's your job to figure out the 80 (Solera lingo) yet you are in trouble if you didn't figure out the correct 80.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have discussions first with the employee before going to the last resort and firing them. Give the employee the opportunity to fix whatever is not making the manager happy. Solera would rather take more time having an open position with interviewing, while giving more work to others, and then the ramp up time with a new employee as opposed to giving the current employee a chance.
