Committed to being the best aesthetics company out there. Very committed CEO who is an excellent communicator and 'tells it the way it is.". Solta is disciplined financially.

Cons

Long work hours, lot of meetings.

    Pros

    The products play in an interesting market space, although the end users would be alarmed at the lack of understanding of the company's own products.

    Cons

    Disrespect permeates the "culture" from the top down. Back biting and politics is more important than innovation, safety and efficacy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Product innovation should grow organically not through acquisition and dismantling and out sourcing. Learn to praise and reward and grow the right people within your organization.

    I worked at Solta Medical

    Pros

    Friendly people and visibility for working for a small company. Thermage has roughly 200 people. Unfortunately a majority of engineering talent has departed from the company since the aquistion of reliant technologies by thermage. Reliant engineers were obviously more talented, but were treated as second class citizens after the acquistion.

    Cons

    Management spends too much time in meeting as opposed to getting real work done. Management also shows little respect to talented employees. As a result much of the real talent has departed from the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There is too much emphasis on the marketing side, and too little on the engineering side. Engineers often have great ideas for future products, that are often shot down by marketing. Marketing has a very limited understanding of the technology that keeps the company afloat. Marketing also often requests feautures to existing products that not only waste engineers time, but also has little to no impact on the market.
