I have been working at Solutionary full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Company Culture: I have worked for many companies over the years. No other company has impressed me as much as Solutionary has in how passionate it is about its customers and how it aligns all its staff and energy around its customers. Solutionary is almost fanatical about being there for its customers; it is this strength, I believe, that keeps the company successful and growing at an impressive rate.

Technology & Knowledge Challenges: I have always found Information Security to be a fun challenge because of how many technologies and layers of technology one needs to understand in order to understand how to make them secure. Solutionary, as an MSSP, takes log feeds from, works with, and needs to understand a very diverse set of technologies, layers and business environments. That all combined with the challenges of more creative attack vectors and rigorous regulatory standards, really pushes the knowledge curve. And on top of that, the commitment to the customers' real challenges ensures that Solutionary doesn't just check the box for a security challenge, but really manages the risk.

Growth Challenges: As the company grows, it develops new processes and structures to help it scale its operations. Being a part of such a growing company can be exciting as anyone can take initiative and help formulate a better and more efficient way to get things done. The key is to take the personal initiative sometimes.

Cons

Sometimes, due to how busy many of the staff are, it is a bit challenging to get a hold of folks one needs to communicate and work with in order to get his or her own work done. Being patient and persistent is key.

Also, due to how customer service focused the entire organization is, plans need to be fluid and flexible enough to ensure that they are seen through to completion and survive evolving priorities and timelines. This can be frustrating to some that are used to predictably, but exciting to those that appreciate being kept on their toes.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay true to the course that the company is heading. But embrace the occasional mistakes and failures employees may make - they only make mistakes because they are trying to do the right thing.

I have been working at Solutionary full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You get to be part of cutting edge technology and work with some of the most talented Security and IT folks around. We strive to provide excellent customer service and have the support from Senior Management to do so.

    Cons

Most positions are not the typical 8 - 5 workday so if you are looking to get by with the bare minimum, 40 hour work week, this is not the place for you. Most employees work beyond the 40 hour work week to ensure the clients' needs are met.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't lose your passion for the customer - it's one of the many reasons I enjoy working here!

I have been working at Solutionary

    Pros

Solutionary seems committed to assisting employees who wish to grow professionally and develop skills, and has a promote from within culture.

    Cons

Perhaps due to the lower compensation packages, many of the more entry-level positions have people who do not seem to care about team work or setting up others for success, having a do enough to get by attitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to look for opportunities to communicate with employees the ways in which they can grow, get everyone involved as a stakeholder in the company
