Sonic – “Sonic keeps you busy and pays you well.”
Pros
The people you work with are a lot of fun. Fast-paced environment that keeps you busy! The tips the car hops make (sometimes kitchen crew has to car-hop) are on top of the minimum wage they make - which is unusual in a tip enviroment, usually waitresses get paid less than minimum wage! Also, if you need the money and you are a hard dedicated worker you can get overtime on a weekly basis - no problems. Some companies don't allow their employees to work over-time no matter how desperate they are for the help - not so at Sonic.
Cons
I didn't enjoy smelling like french fries every time I got off work. If I had plans after work I would have to include time to go home and shower since I smelled so bad. Also, if you close you spray down the entire kitchen and get really wet - I went throuh a lot of tennis shoes in the two years I worked there. It's also really hard to work on your feet all day long. even with a break to eat - your feet will be killing you by the end of your shift! It's hard! I also didn't like how long the hours were when you had the closing shift.
Advice to Senior Management
Have a better work life balance for your employees. It's hard to get the weekends off such as labor day or memorial day because the entire crew ends up asking off - so you will more than likly have to work at least one of the days of the 3 day weekend.
