    I worked at Sony Electronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Decent welfare e.g. staff entitlements, healthcare etc. Mostly great people to work with. Structured processes.

    Cons

    Lack of communication and strategic direction, bureaucratic decision making by the Japanese. Streamlining of teams also means more work for individual, HR is also not doing their job at exit interviews, simply going through motion & filing feedback, resulting in lack of worklife balance from long working hours, poor mid management that are not qualified to lead but just "overseeing" the projects, end up the lower rank staff managing the executional part of the work

    Advice to Management

    High management to pay attention to employees yearly survey results, speak to them face to face and not just talk to the line managers. Treat them with respect & hear their needs please.
