I worked at Sotheby's

Pros

Sotheby's is unlike any place you can work and the opportunities to learn and grow are outstanding. It is a must for anyone who wants to move on in the art world.

Cons

The politics and room for growth within Sotheby's can be challenging. There are few opportunities to advance within the company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I enjoyed working at Sotheby's as a weekend receptionist.

I worked at Sotheby's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The work was simple, but taught me about customer service, databases, and real estate. Good time off for lunch. Little supervision so can independently develop my skills.

    Cons

Not enough hours because I was only working ten a week. There was not a lot of work to do and the main receptionist was very anal about cleanliness.
