    Pros

You get to work in a high paced, somewhat fun industry, depending on the market you are in and type of sales role your hired for. Southern in somewhat family focused and will work with you needed.

    Cons

If you are in considering a career in chain sales in Washington research the position closely. I have been in the wine and spirits industry in Washington state for many years, with the new laws passed and many customers choosing to shop and Costco and Total Wine and More it has made sales to regular chain stores very difficult. Stores now order product from their own warehouse just like they would order breakfast cereal, the sale consultant position is essentially suggestive sales where a manger can and will change their mind about a sale with out telling you. That can get frustrating especially when a big incentive is on the line.

Unfortunately SWS does not value the role of sales consultant. In Washington there is no merchandising staff, a sales consultant is forced to return to their account the following day to work a load which can add to the long day making it difficult to achieve your goals. As a sales consultant you wear many hats, sales rep., merchandiser, and reset crew. With all these job would think pay would be good, sorry that is not the case.

You will drive allot, with very little gas allowance, and monthly commissions are virtually a thing of the past. If you want to advance you have to make friends with senior management it is definitely a boys club. I can go on and on, If you want to work long hours with okay pay take on the position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consult the sales team before making changes. Take a look at the leadership of the company, if there is problem in the market that a sales associate is telling you listen.
