Pros

They have profit sharing, and 401K. Employees own part of the company, and they get an update every quarter. The more one puts in, the more one gets back.

Cons

To some, the company is unionized. Union dues are deducted and they take care of employee, but they may sometimes be a little slow.

Advice to Management

Upper management needs to spend some time with employees on a regular basis.

  1. It was the best internship I could have imagined in my college career.

    Pros

Able to communicate with others, endless opportunities to learn not only within your position, but the whole company. Everyone you meet truly has a servants heart and will go above and beyond to help you

    Cons

The benefits include free (space available travel) and relatively low pay. The ability to fly is an incredible one, but also very tricky. Interns do not get any vacation or time off, as expected with it being an internship. But being able to travel on days besides friday evening and sunday, even if it is just once, would be amazing.

    Advice to Management

Your great! keep up the good listening!

    Pros

Top pay in the industry, liberal vacation, free flights nationwide, vast income potential in large stations.

    Cons

Absolutely no support for employees who attempt to make something of themselves and step out of the union into management positions. Asinine and silly responsibilities, as well as continual degradation from management staff. Supervisor briefings daily, that resulted in threats from management on a near daily basis at my station. Watched a large number of colleagues get terminated to make room for the Airtran merger. When Southwest says they never lay off, they're being honest. They fully take advantage of non-Union employees however.

    Advice to Management

Bring back the Southwest culture I've heard so much about. Support your leaders, and give feedback.
