I worked at Southwest Key Programs full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

meaningful experience with children learn spanish if you are not bilingual learn more about the immigration process help restore confidence in young children

Cons

managment is unreasonable and unorganized if you do not speak spanish managment thinks you are dumb Managment supports the neglect of children including medical neglect no room for growth no room for mental stimulation

Advice to Management

Get off of your power roll. Youth care workers are the bottom of the barrel however, we understand you have power. Talk to the clients to find out whats really going on rather than always assuming they are lying. Treat your staff as if they have a brain rather than insult their intelligents. Get way more organized the government funds your program, no excuses for unorganization

I worked at Southwest Key Programs full-time

    Pros

Overall friendly office environment The office is well designed (pretty)

    Cons

Not a lot to learn if you already understand data Substandard Pay No benefits Kept on contract to avoid company benefit packages 50-70 hour work weeks are standard

    Advice to Management

Immediate team managers need management training. Their lack of experience managing others results in a lack of internal cohesion and blaming when their vague and often contradictory decisions are not fully understood by team members.
