I worked at Spark Networks full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great smart people, good pay
Cons – Particular manager of database team loved to micro-manage his people. He freely belittled team members in front of other team members. It was his way or the highway, even when you could prove you were right. Micromanagement included standing behind you and dictating how to best write your emails to other departments. Turnover rate in database team for 2010-2012 was over 75%.
Advice to Senior Management – Retrain database manager in people skills.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
