Specialized is an inspirational, motivating place to work full of truly passionate cyclists.

Product Manager (Current Employee) Morgan Hill, CA

Pros-As a privately held company, the rider and product is the #1 priority. If the product isn't cool and useful, it's not pushed to be produced even if it'll make money.

-Mike Sinyard is a true visionary and an inspiration to work for.

-You get to ride your bike every day and are very much encouraged to work out at lunch.

-The travel is exciting and diverse -- you truly get to see the world if you're in the right gig.

-Your co-workers are passionate and generally very knowledgeable. There's lots of talent here.

-You can own as much of a project as you like but are very much expected to deliver.

Cons-Work/life balance is a constant struggle for the best employees here.

-There's no equity or stock possibilities versus working at other Silicone Valley companies.

-"Workers" are not valued as much as "leaders" -- OK if you're a leader but if you're a day-in-day-out designer or engineer, you're likely going to be fairly stagnant unless you ask for new opportunities.
