Spherion Consultant in Chandler, AZ:   (Past Employee - 2009)

Pros

There aren't any reasons I can suggest working through Spherion, aside from their occasional exclusive relationships (i.e. only way to access) with certain companies.

Cons

No agent feedback or participation during the contract. Being shuffled between agents. The client had high praise for my work, but after the contract ended, Spherion did nothing to aid in finding the next contract - much less any planning beforehand. Nearly impossible to get through to an agent.

Advice to Senior Management

Yes, income comes from the clients - they're writing all our paychecks. However, your gold mine lies in your consultants. Your money comes from their efforts, and when they're making your clients happy, it pays to keep them in the game. Reduce churn, build loyalty, and you'll have a fleet of high-quality consultants eager to be deployed to new positions. The contracting & consulting business is increasing as companies seek to avoid added headcount. There's a lot of opportunity here that you're not capitalizing on!
