Pros

Comprised of smart, driven people operating in a very open, respectful culture
Growing - which creates career advancement opportunities
Lots of folks who work out at lunch in groups
Set on winning - but having fun along the way

Cons

Pace is quick - you've got to juggle many things
Bringing a new business model to the industry - so you have to figure some things out as you go

I have been working at Spiceworks full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great business model, smart people, exciting work, fun environment, caring and collaborative culture - lots of cool stuff going on here as far as where technology marketing and advertising meets social media. There is a prevailing sense of humor that is very refreshing, even in the midst of a critical deadline. This is a very innovative and creative place.

    Cons

The benefits could be more robust, but they are pretty good

Former Employee - Software Developer in Austin, TX
Former Employee - Software Developer in Austin, TX

I worked at Spiceworks as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Lots of free food and fun events, and also a lot of organized learning: all developers meet once a week to familiarize with new technologies and what everyone is up to. Very casual.
They let me bounce around teams to try different things; not every company does this! They try to keep the "small company" feel even though they are growing very fast.

    Cons

It was a little difficult learning the way everything worked. Some documentation and a training process would have gone a long way towards getting new developers on track.
