I have been working at Spirit AeroSystems

Pros

Nice place to gain experience for fresh graduate.

Cons

Staff with poor performance gets promoted instead of with good performance.
Management do not recognize potential employees.
Management progress is very slow, not keen in getting new business.
Leaders are not active listeners.
Technicians receive no salary adjustment over years.
Management has lack of aerospace technical knowledge.
All engineers are underpaid.
No career path for the employees.
No proper training guide for the fresh graduate.
Management simply bond the employees without standard baseline.
Favourism is practice between management and employees.
Staff with zero English language skill is hired.
There is once an excellent fresh graduate score 2nd highest point during the interview exam but is not selected by management just because he is not graduate locally.
Labour turnover is very high and management sees it as not an issue.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

All managers should learn to be humble, listening actively and recognize potential employee regardless of different races. Improve in good motivation is needed. Do proper announcement for all new comers and promoted staffs instead of announce the one whom they favor. Treasure good and potential employees, without them, there is no support for the company.

    Pros

    Working with some of the best minds in the aerospace industry.

    Cons

    Management makes stupid decisions when it comes to project management. Non-technical personnel make technical decisions which negatively impact across platform. No opportunities for training in subject field. Management is lackadaisical when it comes to providing money for training, but they will spend millions on bonuses for upper management. More concerned about making money than spending money on the front end to make the end game easier.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Let the engineers do their job. They know more about what they're doing than you do. Fire the people that are quoting on business. All they have done is given you an albatross to hang around your neck and Spirit pumps millions of dollars into a project that will not yield much money. You send a senior manager to Tulsa and spends $25 million in overage to get project back on track and the manager gets a bonus? On what planet does that make sense?
