The company has potential, though my experience was bad.

Pros

If you love Halloween like I do, this is a decent temp job. They are also open in letting most employees return to work year after year. Co-workers are usually nice. Good place to make friends.

Cons

Immature district management, will hold grudges and purposely create drama out of nothing, write you up for nothing, at least that is what I dealt with. If you have a complaint it will go unnoticed or ignored by corporate. The company really has a way of stripping the creepy identity from Halloween. Blasting irrelevant pop music from their speakers, etc.,

Advice to Management

The stores need a massive remodel.. and this time, make them Halloween-like. They could be so much better. The pieces are there but the puzzle is incomplete. Take away the cheesy cutouts, bright colors, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga songs, and replace them with horror related decor and what not.

    Pros

High paced, fast-track management, definitely keep you on your toes, by far the hardest DM position I've ever endured for 5 years running. The rewards of success are gratification and fun, great employee development and an entrepreneurial style of running things.

    Cons

Inventory control systems are out of alignment, they store carryover from previous years and stores that you cannot possibly know if the inventory is correct or not, but you'll get the goods assigned to a location, not by choice, and it is what it is...at the end of the season if that inventory is inaccurate from the previous year, you'll pay for it in shrink and get bad marks for the current season, even when you have no control over the inventory management processes.

    Advice to Management

Keep improving the systems...been doing great year to year...still room for improvement for inventory control. Each carryover must have a physical inventory prior to COG's hitting that store/location for precision inventory and shrink results for the current season and DM/SM's in place.
