Looks like a great place to work at the surface, but looks are very deceptive...proceed with caution.

ProsIt's a company that appears to be on the rise that, while no longer the plucky start-up, works hard to make sure it feels like that to the employees. There's plenty of beer, food and foosball tables to maintain a party atmosphere and most people sincerely believe in the product. Great location and great benefits.

ConsOthers have pointed these out: A boys' club approach at the senior management level (literally and figuratively); a LOT of people waiting to cash in their chips and even more people in management positions that have no business (or streetsmarts) being there. There's also a sense that the company will get sold off, which has a bearing on future morale.

Advice to Senior ManagementFigure out what you want to be, communicate it and clean out the deadweight who don't want change. Splunk isn't the plucky startup it used to be...reflect that in every aspect of its business.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
