Disapproves of CEO

Pros

By far the best part was the 25% associate discount. You can use the discount at any store or online.

Cons

When the economy was bad the company skipped raises two years in a row. They also give very tiny raises.

Advice to Management

The leadership needs to take themselves off their pedastole and show more compassion to the associates who are making the company money.

I have been working at Sports Authority full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This can be a good company to work for. The discount is decent and customers are in for things they want not need, so irate customers are a minimum.

    Cons

The company emphasizes communication then does not execute. Things are very compartmentalized and when areas do not communicate with each other it causes frustration and associate/customer issues. They've tightened their wallets making training new associates near impossible. Some store managers are more like dictators than team leaders not interested in the input of the team, but happy to place blame.

    Advice to Management

Start communicating and managing your field leadership better. Provide an environment where learning is possible and empower associates to solve more problems.
