I worked at Sports Authority part-time

Pros

I always got the amount of hours that i wanted, even when they began cutting hours severely in Mid December. If you work hard and do your job, you'll get the hours you need. Pretty good discount especially with 3-point-5. Great coworkers. My manager was understanding of my christmas break needs.

Cons

If you have a bad day/week in getting loyalty sign ups (as a cashier) they wont give you any hours the next week.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more understanding of low loyalty percentages, not everyone wants one, especially when you have to spend at least $100 to get a reward at the end of the quarter. If you want loyalty numbers to go up, set up a rewards system for the person with the best numbers.

I have been working at Sports Authority full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay, the people in my department are very hard workers. There have been tons of changes since I started but things seem to be leveling off.

    Cons

benefits are too expensive, always seem to be downsizing, you are pretty much stuck in your current position unless you are related to one of the executives or get laid off

I have been working at Sports Authority full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible Hours
    Paid Time Off
    Great Merchandise to work with

    Cons

    Management
No room to advance in the company
    Management Salary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of employees that aren't doing their jobs to their fullest potential to make room for employees that are willing to work hard. Also, compensation for employees with previous experience (college degree & masters) should be higher than those with no college degree.
