Pros

Product in store is varied and can be interesting if you are into that sort of thing.
Salary and benefit package - but boy do you have to work for that!

Cons

Bullied into working over your contracted hours and even then, if you dont do what the powers that be believe is 'enough', you will get phone calls and criticisms because even though you didnt need to, you hadnt worked more than 50+ hours that week.
Unfortunately as a manager you are expected in turn to treat your staff in this way also.

Negativity - the company focuses on the negative and the bad, there is NEVER any praise or even a thank you when something has gone well or you have done someone a favour, which leads staff and management to be de-motivated and lose passion for their job.

No creativity or new ideas - The company is very much a 'our way or the highway' business, and the powers that be - a majority have only ever worked for sports direct and if you are new to the company and have new ideas, you will instantly be shot down/berated/criticized for them, no matter how efficient, money making or creative they may be as they are 'not the sports direct way'. Its almost as if they are threatened by new ideas.

No work/life balance whatsoever! your life becomes sports direct and everything else will fall away as they do not see you as someone with a life, you are an employee and that is all you are.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect, understanding, staff and customers being no.1 priority is something this company does not do. If they did it, im sure the turnover/morale/productivity of its staff and management would not be an issue!

I worked at Sports Direct part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The camaraderie between the sales assistants, the 15% discount and of course the flexible hours.

    Cons

Expected to work overtime every shift without any hint of overtime pay; rudeness and disrespect was the order of the day from both customers and managements.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cough up for overtime please, better training.

I have been working at Sports Direct part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

As it was my first job, and i was still at school, I was given flexible working hours around my school work.

    Cons

Terrible pay, and often kept after shift was over if the work wasnt completed, but this would be unpaid. Very little training offered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More training should be offered.
