Current Employee – been working at Spot Runner
Pros – Spot Runner is a shop that eagerly devours new technologies. They see a shiny new bauble, grab it, shake it around, see if it rattles, then decide whether it makes sense in the bigger picture. For a technologist, it's a potentially great place for learning new things and building some solid engineering experience. That is however if you can stomach the office politics, the revolving door of engineers coming and going, and the seemingly quarterly re-orgs.
Cons – Absolutely piss poor career management and opportunities. Management more concerned with territorial pissing matches than working cooperatively to you know, make a buck and succeed. A lack of vision that starts from the very top and trickles all the way down through the entire executive staff.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop treating your staff like crap. Bring back the corporate culture in which staff truly were given the latitude to make mistakes without fear of retribution or finger pointing. That safety net freed staff to think aggressively and creatively. Today, the fire is out and no one seems to be adding any coal to the burner.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
