I have been working at Sprint

    Pros

There are a lot of benefits that other call centers at other companies don't get to experience. There is dental/medical/vision, 401k, stock options, free wireless service, unlimited data on all our devices. The attendance policy is actually one of the more liberal policies in how you can set your work week, if PTO allows. They try to make it a fun as environment as they can with XBOX 360s, a pool table, foosball table, a small fitness center.

    Cons

It's a large company, so a lot of times, you can get lost in the numbers. Executives look as specialists almost purely as quantitative values. Because everything at the call center is so fragmented with outsourcing, there is a lot of misinformation when trying to perform your job. It makes for frustrating customers and frustrating calls. The pay in comparison to some of the other wireless industries seems fairly low, as well. Although the benefits do help stomach the pay at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Specialists should be paid at market value. There are too many specialists, even working in the same department, with vast differences in pay. Also, I feel that the business aspect too often overlaps with the technical aspect. Metrics are a type of analysis that can be applied to large groups, but aren't always an accurate portrayal of the person. Focus more on the people, less on the numbers.
